PROJECT

Leke is a young successful photographer who lives a hedonistic lifestyle in London, but things change when he learns his estranged father has died in Senegal. As part of the World Story project from course, I design the costume for the three characters in this novel.  I got inspired by the location contrast between London and Senegal. Through my design, the change of protagonist Leke’s characteristics is now explicit and visual.

Sometimes we just want to hide ourselves into the crowd, wear black, like shadows on the ground, just like what Leke did in London. In order to achieve the same feeling in my design, I use silhouettes to represent pedestrians, they can only be distinguished from each other by different appearances.
